Third Year Sucks

The third year of medical school is hard for people who don't like brown-nosing. I was really naive when I started and was convinced that residents and attendings would pick up on such obsessively self-serving behavior and wouldn't reward the kiss-asses. I also thought that if was interested, worked hard, and read up on my patients, that would be enough to do well. I was wrong. I do wish, however, that I had somehow advertised the fact that I read up an my patients. That probably would have helped.
